About the Role:
The Leasing Agent - Everett Properties plays a critical role in the real estate and rental industry by serving as the primary point of contact between property owners and prospective tenants. This position is responsible for marketing available rental properties, conducting property tours, and facilitating lease agreements to ensure high occupancy rates. The Leasing Agent must effectively communicate property features, rental terms, and community benefits to attract and retain tenants. Additionally, this role involves managing inquiries, processing applications, and coordinating with maintenance and management teams to address tenant needs. Ultimately, the Leasing Agent contributes to the financial success of the property portfolio by maximizing rental income and maintaining positive tenant relationships.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in leasing, sales, or customer service roles.
- Strong knowledge of rental laws and leasing procedures in the United States.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with property management software such as Yardi or AppFolio.
- Familiarity with Fair Housing laws and regulations.
- Bilingual abilities to serve diverse tenant populations.
- Certification as a Certified Apartment Leasing Professional (CALP) or similar.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct property tours and showcase available units to prospective tenants.
- Respond promptly to inquiries via phone, email, and in-person visits.
- Screen and process rental applications, including background and credit checks.
- Prepare and execute lease agreements in compliance with legal and company standards.
- Maintain accurate records of leasing activities and tenant communications.
- Collaborate with property management and maintenance teams to ensure tenant satisfaction.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract qualified renters.
- Assist in resolving tenant concerns and coordinate move-in and move-out procedures.
Skills:
The Leasing Agent utilizes strong communication skills daily to engage with prospective tenants, clearly explaining leasing terms and property features to facilitate informed decisions. Organizational skills are essential for managing multiple property listings, scheduling tours, and maintaining detailed records of applicant information and lease agreements. Negotiation skills help in addressing tenant concerns and finalizing lease terms that satisfy both the property owner and renter. Proficiency with property management software streamlines application processing and lease documentation, enhancing operational efficiency. Additionally, knowledge of legal regulations ensures compliance with housing laws, protecting both the company and tenants throughout the leasing process.
