The ideal candidate will have experience in apartment maintenance, building repairs, and preventive maintenance. This position requires strong troubleshooting skills, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to providing a safe and well-maintained living environment for residents. Key Responsibilities Perform apartment renovations, including demolition, light plumbing repairs, woodwork, and appliance installation. Troubleshoot and complete repairs such as replacing light bulbs, unclogging sinks and drains, replacing door trim, and performing light carpentry work. Assist with HVAC preventive maintenance and troubleshooting, including changing filters, replacing fan motors, and adjusting vents. Perform light electrical repairs, including outlets, plugs, and switches. Safely operate a variety of hand and power tools, including drills, saws, wrenches, and other maintenance equipment. Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment; recommend purchases as needed. Inspect, service, and maintain doors, windows, and related building components. Assist with loading, unloading, moving, and storing supplies, furniture, and equipment. Respond to maintenance emergencies and after-hours calls when necessary. Perform other duties as assigned. QualificationsQualifications Minimum of 1-3 years of related maintenance experience. Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals, and maintenance documentation. Ability to work collaboratively with the maintenance team and independently when needed. Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to complete tasks thoroughly and efficiently. Self-motivated with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Ability to bend, kneel, walk, and stand for extended periods. Ability to lift 50 pounds or more and safely climb ladders. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Comfortable working in confined spaces. Physical endurance to perform maintenance duties throughout the workday. Experience Requirements 2+ years of maintenance experience required; multifamily housing experience preferred. Intermediate-level skills in multiple trades, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general maintenance. Working knowledge of residential appliances. High School Diploma or GED required. Boiler maintenance and troubleshooting knowledge preferred. HVAC maintenance experience required. Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, procedures, and safety information. Preferred Certifications EPA Universal Certification preferred. OSHA training and asbestos-containing material awareness training preferred.
