You'll partner with Amazon's Chief Security Officer and leadership team to drive financial strategy and planning for one of the company's most critical functions. In this role, you'll own comprehensive financial planning, forecasting, and analysis that directly influences how we allocate resources to protect Amazon and our customers. You'll translate complex financial data into clear insights that guide senior leadership decisions, while managing multi-billion dollar budgets across headcount, infrastructure, and operational spending.

Key job responsibilities
- Develop and manage financial planning cycles — Lead annual operating plans and monthly forecasting processes for all security spending, including headcount planning, infrastructure costs, and key efficiency metrics, while maintaining accuracy across multi-billion dollar budgets
- Translate financial insights for leadership — Analyze complex financial data and create clear narratives for business reviews presented to senior leadership, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor to VP and SVP level stakeholders
- Conduct variance analysis and forecasting — Monitor monthly, quarterly, and full-year financial trends, investigate material variances, and provide detailed explanations to business partners to maintain transparency and accountability
- Collaborate across the organization — Work with central finance teams, security leadership, and business leaders to align priorities, resolve planning challenges, and drive outcomes in a complex matrix environment
- Build scalable finance processes — Establish efficient workflows and automation that improve accuracy and reduce manual effort across financial planning and analysis activities

A day in the life
You'll focus on delivering accurate financial planning and forecasting that keeps our security operations running smoothly. Your day might include updating planning timelines and coordinating review meetings with finance and leadership teams, then diving into validating headcount and operational expense forecasts to identify trends and investigate significant variances. You'll create financial review documents and provide detailed variance commentary to our business partners, ensuring transparency across the organization. Throughout it all, you'll collaborate with colleagues across finance and security leadership to maintain alignment and solve complex planning challenges together.

We're a finance team dedicated to supporting Amazon's security mission by ensuring resources are strategically allocated to protect our company and customers. Our team works closely with the Chief Security Officer's office and broader security leadership to translate business priorities into financial plans. We partner with central finance teams and business leaders across the organization to drive outcomes through collaboration and influence. We're building scalable processes and systems that make our work more efficient and impactful, and we're looking for someone who shares our commitment to supporting critical security initiatives through thoughtful financial stewardship. Basic Qualifications: - 10+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, and Computer Science)
- Experience with Tableau, Python, SQB, Quicksight, Cognos or or other BI packages Preferred Qualifications: - MBA, or CPA
- Experience in a leadership position managing finance, accounting and operational processes
- 8+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy experience
- 8+ years of spearheading strategic cross-functional initiatives that deliver measurable financial results and advance organizational objectives experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
