The role at a glance:

Are you a finance professional who enjoys partnering with project teams, solving problems, and driving project success? NBBJ is seeking a Project Accountant to join our collaborative Finance team and play a critical role in supporting projects across the firm.

Where You Will Work This role is available in our Columbus, OH or Seattle, WA office.

In your new role you will:

As a key member of our Finance team, you'll partner with Project Managers across all NBBJ offices to drive project success through the following responsibilities:

  • Be a true partner – work closely with project managers, clients and sub-consultants to prepare monthly invoices based on contract requirements
  • Own your contracts – Review and interpret contract terms to accurately establish budgets and billing terms within our financial system
  • Keep things accurate – validate and process high volume of consultant invoices and ensure project costs are recorded correctly
  • Stay organized – maintain finance project files
  • Be a team player – review and audit teammates' work and jump in where needed
  • Drive continuous improvement– collaborate with your team to identify and implement process improvements
  • Wear multiple hats – assist with timesheet collection and participate in special projects as they come up

 

What you will need to succeed:

We are looking for a motivated and experienced professional who takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a fast-paced collaborative team. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • A minimum of 3 years of project cost accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable and receivable functions
  • Solid grasp of project financial performance, including revenue and profitability
  • Strong MS Excel skills with proficiency in Word, OutlookandAdobe; experience with Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to respond to clients and team members in a professional and timely manner
  • Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and accountability
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy and follow through
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines
  • Comfortable working both independently and in a collaborative environment

NBBJ is an office first firm, with an expectation that all staff are able to be present in the office a minimum of 4 days per week.

 The annual base pay range for this role is anticipated to be between $68,000 and $80,000 for Seattle. Actual compensation for successful candidates will be carefully determined based on a number of factors, including their skills, qualifications and experience.
