We are currently seeking a Senior Interior Designer to work in Olson Kundig’s Seatle office.Ā 
The Senior Interior Designer is responsible for executing and/or participating in project delivery with a specificĀ focus on technical execution or complex projects.Ā 
Ā 
Primary ResponsibilitiesĀ 
• Provides professional interior design consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of projects.Ā 
• Coordinates with or acts as the project manager to directly supervise the team’s design and technicalĀ 
delivery. Ā Ā 
• May include special expertise roles such as workplace planning, residential outfitting and styling,Ā 
hospitality design etc. Ā 
• Reviews, compiles, and prepares project specifications as required.Ā 
• Takes on aspects of external project communications with subconsultants/clients.Ā 
• Can be relied upon to present directly to the client on technical and design solutions. Ā 
• Prepares construction documents, including technically related interior design components and detailsĀ 
as well as material, FFE, art and outfitting specifications.Ā 
• Independently executes/leads the construction administration process.Ā 
• Manages project quality control.Ā 
• Supervises and guides the work of less experienced interior design team members.Ā 
• Contributes ideas, solutions, and deliverables in team and project environments.Ā 
• Performs other duties as assigned.Ā 
Ā 
Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesĀ 
• Able to organize and cartoon an interior design drawing set as well as a full FFE specifications package.Ā 
• Review and coordinate consultant drawings.Ā 
• Develop any aspect of the project deliverables (permit drawings, CDs, specifications).Ā 
• Technical design skills and ability to direct this type of work for more junior team members. Ā 
• Demonstrates mentorship qualities to advance firm goals/initiatives and develop project teamĀ members.Ā 
• Exhibits a high attention to detail and takes responsibility for delivering accurate, high-quality work.Ā 
• Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency and effectively prioritizes multiple activities with little guidanceĀ in a fast-paced, creative and dynamic work environment.Ā 
• Communicates effectively verbally and in writing, demonstrating the ability to communicate effectivelyĀ with all levels of internal and external ā€œclientsā€ and vendors.Ā 
• Demonstrates a growth mindset and an aptitude for presenting opportunities for process improvementĀ and technology solutions, including learning new software and systems.Ā 
• Demonstrates effective problem-solving skills, including the ability to present solutions andĀ recommendations for non-standard situations.Ā 

QualificationsĀ 
• Professional degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or another related field.Ā 
• A minimum of ten years of related professional experience. 15 years of experience preferred
• Proficient modeling and documentation skills using Revit.Ā 
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative SuiteĀ 
Ā 
Desired Additional Experience Ā 
• Experience with Bluebeam Revu/Bluebeam Studio.Ā 
• Experience with Deltek Project Planning. Ā 
• Experience with SPEXX or equivalent spec writing software.Ā 
• Experience with sustainability-focused project assessments such as Living Building Challenge, LEED,Ā 
WELL, and high-performance building. Ā 
• A portfolio of work demonstrating design, technical, and drafting abilities.Ā

At the time of posting this job, the hiring range for this position in New York City is between $94,000 to $117,000 annually. Final salary decisions are made based upon the extent and relatedness of the candidate’s education and experience and considering internal equity and external market factors.
