Amazon is seeking a talented and motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to drive the design, development, and launch of novel robotics hardware. The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanism architecture, electromechanical integration, and vendor coordination, and must have the ability to work well both independently and in a multidisciplinary team setting.

Key job responsibilities
- Define mechanical requirements and allocate them to components; perform trade studies to select architectures
- Collaborate closely with electrical, firmware, and controls engineers on electromechanical integration, cable routing, and thermal management
- Lead CAD design (SolidWorks or equivalent), tolerance stack-ups, FEA, and design reviews
- Build and test electromechanical subsystem prototypes and integrated systems
- Support product releases to manufacturing and customer deployments
- Coordinate with external partners (actuator suppliers, gear design houses, fabrication vendors) on statements of work, design reviews, and deliverable tracking
- Drive DFM/DFA and work with contract manufacturers and vendors to bring designs from prototype to low-rate production Basic Qualifications: - Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures
- BS degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
- Experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment at volume
- 5+ years of professional experience in mechanical design and product development of complex electromechanical systems
- Strong proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks, CREO, or equivalent) with demonstrated ability to manage large assemblies
- Experience with DFM/DFA, tolerance analysis, and GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
- Experience managing vendor/supplier relationships for precision machined or injection-molded components
- Hands-on prototyping and test experience with actuators, mechanisms, or robotic systems Preferred Qualifications: - Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
- Experience with the project management of technical projects
- Experience designing and debugging tooled (sheetmetal, cast, injection molded,etc) components
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with Mechanical, Electrical and Controls engineers
- Proficiency with Product Lifecycle Management PLM software and ECO’s

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
