Introduction to the Team

Our Corporate Functions are made up of teams that support Expedia Group, including Employee Communications, Finance, Traveler and Partner Service Platform, Legal, People Team, Inclusion and Diversity, and Global Social Impact and Sustainability.

The Global Financial Technology organization is a strategic partner for all finance functions and a service delivery organization that ensures finance initiatives and dependencies are completed on time and within budget. As part of the Financial Close, Planning, and Compliance team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the Oracle EPM platform that forms the backbone of core Finance processes for Expedia Group.

In this role, you will:

  • Own the architectural direction of EPBCS and other EPM applications, including application design, cube and dimension architecture, calculation framework, and integration patterns

  • Establish and enforce best practices for EPM application development, business rule design, data integration architecture, metadata governance, and security models across the EPM team

  • Provide architectural oversight across the EPM ecosystem, including integrations between EPBCS, FCCS, EPCM, EDM, and Narrative Reporting

  • Identify opportunities to simplify and modernize the EPM platform, improve automation, enhance user experience, and adopt new Oracle Cloud EPM capabilities — including AI enablement

  • Provide technical mentorship and architectural coaching to EPM engineers, elevating team capability through design reviews, knowledge sharing, and hands-on guidance

  • Partner with FP&A, Finance, and IT leadership to translate complex business and finance requirements into scalable, sound platform solutions

  • Guide the design and governance of data integration patterns using Data Management, EPM Integration Agent, REST APIs, and enterprise data platforms

  • Ensure platform solutions meet SOX controls, IT General Controls (ITGCs), audit requirements, and enterprise change management standards, and proactively address architectural risks

Experience and Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Technology, or a related field with 10+ years of experience; or a Master's degree with 7+ years of experience; or equivalent related professional experience

  • Deep hands-on expertise in Oracle EPM Cloud with a focus on EPBCS (Planning & Budgeting Cloud) architecture and platform configuration

  • Demonstrated experience functioning as a technical architect or platform lead — defining engineering standards and guiding teams through complex EPM design decisions

  • Demonstrated understanding of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting processes within FP&A and Finance organizations

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to guide teams through complex system, data, and integration challenges

  • Proficient communication skills with the ability to translate technical architecture into clear guidance for both engineering and business audiences

  • Experience working in Agile or structured delivery environments with architectural leadership across cross-functional initiatives

Preferred:

  • Experience with cross-module EPM design including FCCS, EPCM, EDM, and Narrative Reporting

  • Proficiency in Business Rules, Calc Manager, and Groovy scripting

  • Experience with metadata and dimension design, including multi-application governance and Data Management/EPM Automate

  • Knowledge of integration architecture between EPM, ERP (Oracle Fusion Cloud), and enterprise data platforms

  • Familiarity with SOX compliance, ITGCs, audit requirements, and change management for finance-critical systems

  • Experience across multiple planning, forecast, and reporting release cycles in an enterprise-scale environment

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $184,500.00 to $258,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $295,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.
