The Senior Director of Manufacturing Technical Operations will lead and set the strategic vision for our manufacturing engineering, test, and test development teams. You will align team priorities with corporate goals and drive initiatives to ensure our test systems efficiently produce world-class quality hardware.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

§ Provide strategic and technical leadership for manufacturing and test engineering across all hardware production lines. 

§ Oversee long-term roadmap for Contract Manufacturer test capability, automation, test data analytics, networking, and remote monitoring infrastructure. 

§ Utilize experience and principles of manufacturing best practices to develop departmental operational maturity. Establish team goals that align corporate promises, technical excellence, and industry best practices.  

§ Drive enhancements to test infrastructure efficiency and factory uptime. Drive DFM and DFTest requirements into Product Development’s design goals. 

§ Draw on engineering experience to guide quick assessment and resolution of technical issues whether related to manufacturing processes, vendors, design margins, test limits, or product software issues.

§ Align test-plans, manufacturing tools, ICT fixtures, programming tools, structural test equipment, AI assisted optical inspection tools, and test methods meet release schedules.  

§ Participate in production process improvement projects with the product design, manufacturing engineering, manufacturing quality, and contract manufacturer engineering teams.

§ Develops budgets for manufacturing test operations for VP approval and manages budget once approved.

§ Lead adoption of AI assisted / augments workflows and test methods.

§ Develops and approves exceptions to policy tied directly to the sub-function or area of responsibility.

Manages the interface with IT (Digital) for production/NPI requirements, new technologies, external site disruptions, and enhancements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

§ Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English including ability to develop a consensus and drive all organizations to achieve goals.

§ Strong Leadership skills and Team Building Skills.

Regularly interacts with executives and/or major business partners. Interactions frequently involve specific skills, such as negotiating with management or senior level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 10 - 15 years of experience in a mid – high volume outsourced contract manufacturing and SMT environments.
  • 7 years of experience in managing manufacturing test, manufacturing engineering or other applicable manufacturing related teams.
  • B.S. degree in electronics or appropriate degree with experience in manufacturing process, manufacturing test, manufacturing quality control, or contract manufacturing management.
  • The senior position requires a deep understanding of manufacturing test operations, product development processes, contract manufacturer interactions, industry best-practices and F5 corporate goals.

Possess a initiative-taking, positive-attitude, a keen sense of self-motivation, accountability, and responsibility.
