  • We are seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to oversee the development of new consumer devices from prototype to launch.
  • The role involves coordinating various teams, including design, engineering, and manufacturing, to ensure successful product delivery.
  • Candidates should have a minimum of 7 years of experience working with engineering teams and at least 5 years in technical program management.
  • The base salary for this position ranges from $148,700 to $201,200 annually, with additional sign-on payments and stock options.
  • This position is part of the Emerging Products team at Amazon Devices, which focuses on creating innovative intelligent home devices.
We are looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager to drive new consumer devices from working prototype through customer launch. As a member of a small, fast-moving product development team, you will own the end-to-end execution of ambitious hardware programs — coordinating industrial design, mechanical, electrical, audio, camera, thermal, silicon, software, and manufacturing partners to bring new categories of intelligent home devices to market.

Key job responsibilities
• Own the end-to-end program plan for one or more new consumer hardware devices from engineering validation through design validation, production validation, and customer launch.
• Drive schedule, scope, budget, and risk across cross-functional hardware and software workstreams; run the operating cadence that keeps engineering, industrial design, manufacturing, and go-to-market teams aligned.
• Partner directly with contract manufacturers, JDMs, and EMS partners to execute prototype builds, tooling ramps, and pilot production. Own the day-to-day interface between Amazon and our external manufacturing partners.
• Coordinate silicon selection, camera, audio, thermal, mechanical, electrical, and connectivity workstreams so they converge on beautiful, high-quality customer hardware.
• Manage build plans, unit distribution, and change control across engineering and prototype fleets. Track BOM cost, yields, and quality gates in flight.
• Anticipate blockers, escalate crisply, and drive decisions across senior stakeholders. Keep leadership informed with concise, data-backed program updates.
• Establish and evolve program mechanisms tailored to small, fast-moving hardware programs — not one-size-fits-all consumer device processes. Modify or exclude standard steps when necessary to race to a working product.
• Own trip planning, on-site presence at manufacturing partners, and cross-time-zone coordination as programs move through key milestones.
