This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight. Blue Origin is self-funding rapid development of multiple in-space flight systems – over a range of sizes, propellant types, and technical challenge.Ā 

  

This position resides within the Avionics & Control Products (ACP) organization, part of the Engine Business Unit.  As part of the ACPĀ Product ExecutionĀ team, you willĀ test, troubleshoot,Ā and deliver avionicsĀ to meet our engine build and launch goals.   

  

The test systems will provide an environment to integrate the electronics and software for system development, verification, and validation. This will include software simulations and hardware emulators, as well as software for interfacing with these simulators and emulators.Ā

Responsibilities:Ā 

  • Participate in theĀ setup, integration,Ā execution, and reviewĀ ofĀ avionicsĀ tests, including shock, vibration, thermal, and EMI campaignsĀ 

  • Coordinate with technicians for theĀ executionĀ of these campaignsĀ 

  • Support a development environment with open box testing and card to card level testingĀ 

  • Perform checkout and troubleshooting of electronic assembliesĀ and test equipmentĀ 

  • Create, review,Ā and releaseĀ testĀ work orders.Ā 

  • Configure and operate data acquisition systems, and associated instrumentationĀ 

  • Analyze test data, generate test reports, and disposition anomalies in collaboration with design, test,Ā and quality engineeringĀ 

  • Maintain test equipment calibration, facility readiness, and compliance with AS9100 and internal quality management system requirements  


Minimum Qualifications:Ā 

  • 2 year Associates degree in electrical or electronic engineering technologyĀ 

  • 8+ years of industry experience with electrical/electro-mechanical assembliesĀ 

  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and written assembly proceduresĀ 

  • Proficient in the use of standard electronic lab test and troubleshooting equipmentĀ 

  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsĀ 

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, attention-to-detail, and desire for continuous improvementĀ 


Preferred Qualifications:Ā 

  • B.S degree in electrical engineeringĀ 

  • Working knowledge of EMI/EMC testing per MIL-STD-461 test methodsĀ 

  • Working knowledge of digital circuits, analog circuits, computers, microprocessors, and networksĀ 

  • Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Windchill, JIRA) and digital work order execution systemsĀ 

  • IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 certification, or NASA workmanship standards experienceĀ

  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing, vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.
  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
