This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

As part of a hardworking team you will work as an Avionics Integrator within the Avionics team on the Crewed Lander, focusing on the integration of one or more spacecraft subsystems. You will lead cross-functional trade studies, run integrated analyses, and define interfaces thatĀ impactĀ the design and integration of the spacecraft. You should expect that this foundational part of our vision will require your excellent communication and teamwork. You will work directly with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program. You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Transportation system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth.Ā

Responsibilities:Ā 

  • Act as the negotiator between multipleĀ stakeholdersĀ withĀ conflicting interests toĀ optimizeĀ the spacecraftĀ design.Ā 

  • Contribute to or lead Avionics architecture studies, concept development, verification planning, vehicle integration, and operations supportĀ 

  • Manage Avionics requirements development, definition, and maturityĀ 

  • DevelopĀ and manageĀ AvionicsĀ physical, logical, andĀ networkĀ configurationĀ interface control documents (ICDs)Ā 

  • Develop andĀ maintainĀ data and communication budgetsĀ 

  • Develop andĀ maintainĀ integrated electrical architecture diagrams.Ā 

  • Coordinate constraints and conflicting requirements across multiple disciplinesĀ 

  • Contribute to or lead change managementĀ ensuringĀ proper change impact assessmentĀ andĀ coordination of design changes andĀ theirĀ impacts across subsystemsĀ 

  • Identify, assess, and manageĀ program risksĀ (technical, schedule, cost, integration)Ā Ā 

  • Tool development forĀ maintainingĀ vehicle electrical configuration and definition.Ā

Qualifications:Ā 

  • B.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical subject areaĀ 

  • 8+ years relevant experience in the full life cycle development of avionics systems, including requirements, design, integration, test, and operations.Ā 

  • DeepĀ experienceĀ inĀ integratingĀ spacecraftĀ subsystemsĀ -Ā Avionics, Software, Structures, GNC,Ā power system,Ā etc.Ā 

  • DemonstratedĀ expertiseĀ related to configuring and managing time-sensitive, deterministic networks such as like Time Sensitive Networking, ARINC 664, Time Triggered Ethernet, or other approachesĀ 

  • Demonstrated ability to define and manage communication protocolsĀ Ā 

  • Demonstrated functional understanding of common electrical digital and analog interfaces (e.g.Ā Serial Bus Communications, Video, Audio, Ethernet, Analog Sensors, etc.)Ā 

  • Highly knowledgeable of systems engineering practices, integration processes, and mission/safety critical systemsĀ 

  • Strong ability and desire to analyze complex systems and deliver results-orientedĀ solutionsĀ Ā 

  • Strong MS Excel skillsĀ 

  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skillsĀ 

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic work environmentĀ

  • M.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems, Software, Electrical, or related technical subject areaĀ 

  • Experience with human-rated spacecraftĀ 

  • Experience with full spacecraft design life cycleĀ 

  • Experience with systems safety design practicesĀ 

  • Experience with MBSE methods and tools includingĀ SysMLĀ 

  • Experience with electrical architecture diagramming practices and tools including MS VisioĀ 

  • Experience with software tools such as SINDA/FLUINT, MATLAB/Simulink, Creo, Jama, Cameo, Confluence, and JIRAĀ 

  • VB Script or Python Experience (for tool development)Ā

CO applicants is $119,814.00 - $167,738.55 WA applicants is $130,706.00 - $182,987.70
