This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

Responsibilities:

You will contribute to all aspects of GS1 Vehicle Design by coordinating between subsystems to createĀ optimalĀ structural, mechanical, fluids, and electrical solutions. Your responsibilities include configuration management, system-level trade studies, change request processing, and managing multiple concurrent vehicle configurations to support material planning.Ā 

This mid-level position offers growth toward Senior and Lead engineering roles. We seek candidates who combine technicalĀ expertiseĀ with leadership potential and a commitment to safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission is essential!Ā

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • B.S. in engineering with 5+ years of aerospace vehicle structures/systems development experienceĀ 

  • Experience managing complex engineering changes across multiple production vehiclesĀ 

  • ProficiencyĀ withĀ effectivityĀ and product structure management within CAD and PLM systemsĀ 

  • Experience with system-level trade studies and design optimizationĀ 

  • Strong cross-functional teamwork and communication skillsĀ 

  • ProficiencyĀ with 3D CAD software and visualization toolsĀ 

  • Knowledge of scheduling and planning principlesĀ 

  • Strong GD&T skills and tolerance stack-up analysis experienceĀ 

  • ExperienceĀ participatingĀ in drawing and design reviewsĀ 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Configuration management training (CMII)Ā 

  • Aerospace design, fabrication, and assembly knowledgeĀ 

  • Ability to translate high-level requirements into design solutionsĀ 

  • Experience with design for cost, manufacturability, and assemblyĀ 

  • ExperienceĀ providingĀ design guidance to technical teamsĀ 

  • Strong competency in PTC Creo and WindchillĀ 

  • Ability to conduct interference

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $121,023.00 - $169,432.20

  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
