Harborview Medical Center – Outpatient Behavioral Health - VITAL Team has an outstanding opportunity for a OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST 2.


WORK SCHEDULE
- PART-TIME; 50% FTE; 20 hours per week

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The Vital interdisciplinary team provides services to King County’s most vulnerable individuals experiencing frequent jail bookings, behavioral health challenges and homelessness. Clients are typically experiencing complex behavioral health and physical challenges across broad occupational areas.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Under general direction, the occupational therapist 2 will assess client’s strengths and challenges and implement occupation-based interventions in a community setting.
- Interventions include skill development, compensatory strategies, environmental adaptations and education based on client goals and assessment results.
- The occupational therapist provides a distinct perspective in helping clients engage in meaningful and productive life roles and manage activities of daily living (ADL/IADL’s) to support sustained housing and community integration.
- As a member of a multi-program and multidisciplinary team, occupational therapy services are outreach based and delivered in community settings where the client lives and spends time.
- The position will report to the VITAL team manager.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy program and successful completion of the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) examination AND 18 months of professional occupational therapy experience.
AND
Current Washington State license to practice as an Occupational Therapist or a valid probational certificate issued by the state of Washington to practice occupational therapy.
OR
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
