Weekend Hospice Social Worker
Agency: Puget Sound Hospice of King and Pierce County
Location: Pierce and King County
Pay: $40-50 an hour, DOE
Schedule: Sat and Sun, 8 hours each day

What You’ll Do
As a Hospice Social Worker, you’ll play a vital role in helping patients and families navigate the emotional, social, and practical challenges that come with serious illness and end-of-life care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and develop individualized care plans for hospice patients.
- Provide clinical counseling and emotional support to patients and families, addressing social, emotional, behavioral, and spiritual concerns.
- Educate patients and families about hospice services, end-of-life planning, advance directives, and community resources.
- Offer guidance on behavioral health issues and provide crisis intervention when necessary.
- Advocate for patient needs, ensuring their rights are respected and upheld within the healthcare system.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary hospice team to coordinate holistic care and ensure continuity of services.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation in compliance with HIPAA and organizational standards.
What You Bring
We’re looking for someone who is clinically skilled and passionate about hospice care.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
- Current Washington State Social Work License (LICSW, LASW, LSWAIC,LSWAA)
- Prior hospice or palliative care experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of community resources and end-of-life care planning
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable traveling within North King County
