Job Description

Come join our newly formed Operations Business Management team, focused on connecting, scaling, and evolving the rhythms, capabilities, and initiatives that keep Nordstrom Operations, and the enterprise it powers, moving forward, so that our people and partners can lead with clarity, operate at their best, and serve customers well. You’ll be a part of a small, high-impact team with deep experience in finance, merchandising, and operations. Currently we're continuing to evolve the Sales & Operational Execution process to maximize Nordstrom’s ability to achieve our goals.

A day in the life …

As an Operations & Delivery Program Manager I on the Operations Business Management Team, you will be joining a team that plays a critical, enterprise-level role flexing across the entire business, enabling senior leaders and their teams to develop and deliver their plans – ultimately driving connectivity across the enterprise by weaving together planning processes and identifying and resolving cross functional interdependencies and blockers, which results in more effective planning and execution at an enterprise level. The focus of this role will be helping to drive forward enterprise leadership connection across multiple different types of forums, key events, and business functions. Two areas specifically this role will focus on are delivery of key high-volume event timeframes and recurring leadership meetings. The work in these areas will be highly visible across the leadership of our business, is extremely cross functional, and impacts the enterprise in our most competitive times. You’ll do this by helping to build processes and tools that will help leaders track progress to their plans, communicate across the enterprise, and help to operationalize these plans by playing a thread across all functions. Different aspects of this role will flex throughout different times of the year, reflective of the changing focus and dependent on the season. This requires a candidate that is motivated, proactive, results-oriented, and able to navigate ambiguity. Someone with a unique blend of strategic thinking, program and project management, and problem-solving skills - both quantitative and qualitative. The day-to-day work will include crafting compelling communications materials, developing effective processes, tools and templates, running ad-hoc analysis, creating cross functional business updates, and meeting with operating leaders and teams. The candidate will need to be comfortable working across a variety of topics, including merchandising, technology, finance, supply chain, marketing, stores, and digital, and at various altitudes - from high-level strategy to detailed KPI tracking. This position reports to the Senior Director, Operations Business Management.

You own this if you have ...

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or relevant Master’s degree a plus

  • 4+ years of experience in program management, management consulting, corporate strategy, or finance

  • Strong interest in retail and understanding of industry dynamics

  • Strong quantitative skills, including model building and insight generation (from a variety of data types and sources)

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Ability to develop project plans and manage project execution

  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with cross-functional partners across all levels of the organization

  • Ability to handle ambiguity and change

  • Ability to work across a wide breadth of topics, focusing in on the things that matter vs getting overwhelmed by less important details

  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
