Department Description

Position Highlights
- Lead security operations for UWMC-Montlake and UW Medicine Primary Care locations.
- Supervise and develop security staff, including shift supervisors and officers.
- Oversee training programs, compliance, and operational standards.
- Collaborate with leadership on strategic security initiatives and emergency planning.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day security operations for UWMC-Montlake and Primary Care, ensuring safe staffing levels and service excellence.
- Direct HR functions for security personnel, including hiring, evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
- Implement and maintain training programs (e.g., WELLE, Code Gray, Code Silver).
- Oversee equipment, scheduling, and compliance with UW Medicine standards.
- Act as adjutant for the Director in their absence and liaise with internal and external agencies.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Public Safety Administration, Security Management, Criminal Justice, Hospital Administration, Business, or a related field from an accredited university
4-5 years' relevant work experience to include
security services/Public Safety leadership role in a healthcare environment or 2 years’ experience in law enforcement;
Advance training or experience with technical elements including physical security systems;
security operations;
security protocols and training;
and team supervision;
demonstrated leadership in advancing best practices in a healthcare environment.

Pay Range Minimum:
