Harborview Medical Center's Medical Specialties Clinics - Rehab Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RN).

WORK SCHEDULE

  • 100% FTE, 40 hours weekly

  • Day Shift, Mon - Fri

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

The Rehabilitation Medicine Clinic at Harborview Medical Center offers comprehensive care for adults recovering from spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, stroke, amputations and COVID-19. We offer follow-up care for UW Medicine patients discharged from our acute care and rehabilitation unit. We also offer post-COVID rehabilitation and recovery care for patients who have recovered from an active infection of COVID-19 but continue to have lingering symptoms.

Patients are the center of our multidisciplinary team. Care team members include doctors who specialize in rehabilitation medicine (physiatrists), rehabilitation nurses, physical, occupational and speech therapists, patient care coordinators, therapeutic recreation specialists, vocational rehabilitation counselors, rehabilitation psychologists and social workers.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Utilize the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation) to prescribe, prioritize, delegate, coordinate and provide safe, therapeutic nursing care to patients and families

  • Make independent judgements/decisions and take action regarding a wide range of routine and complex patient problems and situations

  • Collaborate with other disciplines as appropriate to coordinate continuity of patient care

  • Participate in clinic and selected divisional activities to promote delivery problem solving and communication and continued professional development of self and others

  • Assigned primarily with the Rehabilitation Medicine Clinic with secondary support to Neurology, Thoracic Surgery, and Medical Operative Consult Clinics

REQUIREMENTS

  • Active WA State or Multi-State RN License by start date

  • At least 2 years of inpatient or outpatient experience as an RN
