Job Title: Operations & Logistics Support 

Job Purpose and Position Overview: Snow & Company is seeking talented and skilled Operations and Logistics Support to join our team! We’re currently involved in some interesting, high-impact projects, including the construction of a dry dock, two cutting-edge electric tugboats, and an 8-year contract to build advanced workboats for the US Navy. Key Responsibilities:

Material Handling & Logistics 

  • Receive, inspect, and process incoming shipments of supplies, equipment, and materials.
  • Organize and kit incoming steel for production.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper labeling and storage of items.
  • Safely transport materials and equipment throughout the facility using carts, dollies, or forklifts.
  • Coordinate and deliver supplies to designated work areas, departments, or vessels as needed.
  • Assist with staging, packing, and preparing outbound shipments.
  • Monitor and manage all forklift operations and material movements across the facility.
  • Coordinate equipment placement onsite and effectively communicate logistics with Snow & Co. staff, Snow Crane Co., subcontractors, visitors, and customers.
  • Oversee dumpster placement, dump runs, and overall waste management.
  • Manage onsite logistics for subcontractors, including staging and access coordination.
  • Enforce parking policies and ensure safe, organized use of yard and lot space.
  • Conduct routine inspections of outdoor equipment and generate inspection reports.

Facilities Maintenance & Support 

  • Conduct routine inspections of production areas, waterfront, parking lots, and facility grounds to identify safety or maintenance issues.
  • Perform light repairs and preventive maintenance on general facility systems and non-specialized equipment.
  •  Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free conditions across all workspaces and common areas.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, building codes, and internal safety procedures.
  • Complete documentation including work orders, maintenance logs, supply requests, and expense reports.
  • Safely operate company vehicles for transporting tools, materials, and equipment throughout the greater Seattle area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of facility and operations needs.

Essential Skills:

  • Basic understanding of, or ability to quickly learn, the equipment, tools, and facilities involved in daily operations
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, including those in technical manuals and manufacturer documentation
  • General familiarity with hand tools, power tools, hardware, and mechanical parts
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a high attendance rate
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and compliant work environment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working outdoors and in varied weather conditions
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to safely lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs) on a regular basis

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Forklift certification or experience operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment 
  • Prior experience in facilities maintenance, warehousing, or logistics 
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and procedures
  • Basic computer skills, including experience with inventory or maintenance management systems 
  • Experience coordinating with subcontractors or external vendors 
  • Ability to read simple site plans, layouts, or schematics 

Physical & Environmental Demands

The work environment is a dynamic, fast-paced shipyard with moderate to loud noise levels due to ongoing production activities. Job duties are performed in production areas and onboard vessels and require:

  • The ability to walk to and from job sites, climb inclined stairways, and use vertical ladders
  • Frequent bending, squatting, crawling, twisting, standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands/fingers for various tasks
  • Occasional reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and crawling
  • Frequent lifting of up to 20 lbs, with occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs
  • The ability to work in extreme temperatures and conditions, including areas with limited ventilation
  • The ability to enter and work in confined spaces, such as manholes
  • The ability to work at heights
  • Frequent use of a respirator
  • Wearing required safety gear, including a hard hat, gloves, safety glasses, and protective clothing
  • Regular exposure to noise from machinery and equipment

Pay and Benefits:

  • $24 - $28 / hour
  • Full time, overtime non-exempt position
