We offer a hybrid work environment, but this role does require a local presence. Youāll need to be based in the Seattle area and available to visit project sites and attend in-person meetings around the region when needed.
General Summary
The Staff Engineer will acquire basic knowledge and develops engineering skills. The incumbent will evaluate, elect, and apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform a task, or sequence of tasks, associated with conventional projects with few complex features.

Essential Functions and Duties
⢠Prepare water, surface water and wastewater utility studies, evaluations, engineering reports, and comprehensive plans.
⢠Coordinate and develop technical plans, specifications and cost estimates for water, surface water and wastewater utility treatment, pumping, storage and pipeline facilities.
⢠Develop expertise in the use of engineering and analysis tools and may include hydraulic modeling software.
⢠Develop understanding of Departments of Health and Ecology regulatory requirements that guide our work products.
⢠Research available infrastructure technologies and products used in the construction of water, surface water and wastewater facilities.
⢠Perform field work that might include technology pilot testing, construction observation, and facility evaluation and condition assessments.

⢠Presentation at conferences and/or to professional organizations.
⢠Assists with development of project proposals.
⢠Performs other duties as needed and/ or assigned.

Key Work Relationships
The Staff Engineer will work closely with project managers and project engineers within project teams and will require demonstration of strong competency and exemplary trustworthiness with other team members. The incumbent must be respectful of individuals of different cultural differences and personalities. This position will also interact with general public, client officials, and contractors on an occasional basis.

Education and Experience
⢠Bachelor of Science (Civil, Environmental, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering) required.
⢠Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
⢠Experience with Hydraulic modeling products (Innovyze, Bentley, and/or Visual Hydraulics)
preferred.
⢠Completed course work in fluid dynamics, water/wastewater treatment, hydrology, water
chemistry, construction contracting preferred.
⢠Relevant field experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
⢠Strong and diverse knowledge base and some experience across various aspects of Civil or Environmental Engineering.
⢠Knowledge of AutoCAD, GIS and/or Revit (BIM) design software products preferred.
⢠Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
⢠Must be able to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing).

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
⢠EngineerāināTraining (EIT) certification preferred.
⢠Washington State Driverās License and insurable driving record preferred.

Physical Demands
To successfully perform the essential duties of this position, an individual must be able to sit at a desk
for six or more hours a day, and use office equipment, including phones and computer keyboards, for
four or more hours per day. Must be able to lift 50 pounds with occasional field work, such as lifting,
kneeling, and pulling required. Regular attendance is an essential function of the position. Reasonable
