GENERAL SUMMARY:Ā 

The Resident Wellness Director is responsible for overseeing the well-being of all residents living in the community along with ensuring all state regulations are being met. The Resident Wellness Director conducts assessments of new and current residents and oversees the medication management program. The Resident Wellness Director also ensures the community has a diverse staff with skills and licensing appropriate to meet the needs of the residents.Ā

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Ā 

Ā· Servant Leadership directs all aspects of decision makingĀ 

Ā· Conducts resident evaluations in a prompt and timely matter according to state regulations and Watercrest policies and proceduresĀ 

Ā· Oversees and is responsible for all aspects of medication, including but not limited to; orders, administration, storage, documentation and as mandated by the State Regulations and Guidelines as well as Company policy and procedureĀ 

Ā· Responsible for ensuring medications are placed on the MOR in a timely mannerĀ 

Ā· Periodically, or as mandated, reviews compliance for those that self-administer medicationsĀ 

Ā· Assure that all resident care specialists are familiar with the residents’ individual conditions and are trained to provide the resident services in an effective, professional and sensitive mannerĀ 

Ā· Monitors resident wellness care for compliance with state and federal regulationsĀ 

Ā· Monitors and maintains vital statistics as requiredĀ 

Ā· Makes recommendations for quality improvement, infection control and department enhancementsĀ 

Ā· Ensures in house ancillary services, such as x-rays, podiatry, dental, eye care, psych visits etc.are scheduled and the appropriate follow up is completedĀ 

Ā· Monitors and reviews daily charting by licensed staffĀ 

Ā· Maintains / monitors care plans for all residentsĀ 

Ā· Conducts training classes, on-the-job training and orientation programs for all associatesĀ 

Ā· Review direct report associate time punches in payroll system as necessaryĀ 

Ā· Process bi-weekly payroll for department associatesĀ 

Ā· Participate in the recruitment and selection of wellness associatesĀ 

Ā· Respond in a timely manner to requests of residents, families and guests programsĀ 

Ā 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Ā 

Ā· Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, team members, residents, family members, guests,
vendors, referral sources, and outside contactsĀ 

Ā· Able to manage revenue and expense budgetĀ 

Ā· Able to make independent decisionsĀ 

Ā· Must be able to communicate in a warm, friendly and caring mannerĀ Ā 

Ā· Must be familiar with and adhere to guidelines related to the Fair Housing Act (FHA) and the American with Disabilities Act (ADA)Ā Ā 

Ā· Must possess a passion to work with and around senior citizensĀ 

Ā 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:Ā 

Ā· High School Diploma or equivalentĀ 

Ā· Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered NurseĀ 

Ā· Assisted Living License or Certification (according to state requirement)Ā 

Ā 

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:Ā 

Ā· Minimum Two (2) years in the senior living environmentĀ 

Ā· Strong leadership skills with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in supervising and managementĀ 

Ā 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ā 

The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this position:Ā 

Ā· Able to stand or walk 75% of the dayĀ 

Ā· Able to concentrate with frequent interruptionsĀ 

Ā· Able to work under stress and in emergency situationsĀ 

Ā· Able to work under conditions that require sitting, standing, walking, reaching, pulling, pushing, and graspingĀ 

Ā· Able to talk and hear effectively in order to convey instructions and information to residents and team membersĀ 

Ā· Occasionally lift/carry up to 50 poundsĀ 

Ā 

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE / PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:Ā 

Ā· Work in all areas of the communityĀ 

Ā· Subject to reactions from dust, disinfectants and cleaning chemicals and may be exposed to infectious waste, diseases and other conditionsĀ 

Ā· Use personal protective equipment and supplies when needed to prevent burns, falls, and infectionĀ 

Ā· Personal protective equipment includes infection control kit, rubber gloves and non-slip shoesĀ 

Ā· Subject to infectious diseases, substances and odorsĀ
