Maintenance & Refrigeration Supervisor

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Summary

The Maintenance & Refrigeration Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising maintenance activities to ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of facility equipment and refrigeration systems. This role provides leadership and support to maintenance and refrigeration team members, oversees regulatory compliance programs, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to maximize equipment reliability and workplace safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and direct maintenance and refrigeration operations to support production goals.
  • Supervise, coordinate, and provide guidance to maintenance and refrigeration personnel across all shifts.
  • Ensure timely completion of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Administer and maintain Process Safety Management (PSM) programs and related documentation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex equipment, mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration system issues.
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and engineering teams on equipment installations, modifications, and upgrades.
  • Monitor equipment performance and implement solutions to improve reliability and efficiency.
  • Maintain maintenance records, work orders, compliance documentation, and operational reports.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and environmental standards.
  • Conduct safety inspections, monthly safety meetings, and employee training programs.
  • Train team members on the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.
  • Promote ergonomic improvements and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.
  • Coordinate employee schedules, review timekeeping records, and manage attendance reporting.
  • Support staffing, performance management, coaching, and development of maintenance personnel.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • Postsecondary education, vocational training, technical certification, college coursework, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of maintenance, refrigeration, or industrial equipment maintenance experience.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of maintenance operations, refrigeration systems, and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Process Safety Management (PSM) and OSHA regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications and recordkeeping systems.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees, vendors, contractors, and management.

Travel

  • Occasional travel required (1–5 trips per year).

Working Conditions

  • Manufacturing/industrial facility environment.
  • Regular exposure to maintenance, refrigeration, and production equipment.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and industrial operating conditions.
  • Availability to support maintenance and refrigeration operations across all shifts as needed.
