Our Equipment Technician is primarily responsible for troubleshooting, servicing and repairing heavy machinery in the shop. This includes large and small earthmoving equipment. 
 
Hourly Base Rate: $24.62 - $58.30 / hour 
 
What You Will Do in This Role: 
  • Perform all levels of repair and preventative maintenance on heavy machinery, diagnose and troubleshoot problems, make recommendations for repairs and perform critical repairs and adjustments 
  • Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies with minimal supervision 
  • Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments 
  • Develop and maintain long-lasting working relationships with customers 
  • Travel is required for training and/or to assist at other locations. 

 Physical & Working Requirements
  • This role involves hands-on mechanical work in a shop environment. The employee must be able to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation. These functions may include:
  • Safely and repeatedly lifting components weighing up to 115 pounds without assistance
  • Safely lifting, carrying, and lowering components weighing up to 65 pounds without assistance
  • Frequent pushing, pulling, and carrying of heavy materials
  • Climbing on and off equipment and working at varying heights
  • Standing, bending, and working in physically demanding positions for extended periods
  • Safely operating tools and equipment 

Our Ideal Candidate: 
  • Basic mechanical knowledge including electrical and hydraulics 
  • General knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments 
  • Welding backround (Mig and Stick expreince)
  • Must be able to read and comprehend specifications, service and parts literature, technical bulletins and other related publications 
 
What Will Put You Ahead: 
  • Experience working within the diesel mechanics industry (specifically with CAT earthmoving equipment) 
  • Certified Welder (3G/4G) w/ equipment repair welding expreince
  • Stable work history 
  • Knowledge of use of various heavy equipment and the ability to read and comprehend specifications, service and parts literature, technical bulletins and other related publications
