As a Psychosocial Rehabilitation Specialist, you’ll provide day-to-day PSR services that help clients build life skills, connect with community resources, and thrive outside of clinical settings. Working under the guidance of our Clinical Supervisor and PSR Supervisor, you’ll facilitate education groups, support treatment plan goals, coordinate outings and activities, and serve as a consistent, positive role model. This role combines direct client engagement, advocacy, and teamwork to promote recovery and long-term wellness for individuals in the Sedalia Missouri area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage clients daily through psychosocial rehabilitation activities that build coping skills, independence, and community living skills
  • Facilitate PSR education sessions and plan group outings that support treatment plan objectives and client growth
  • Advocate for clients by coordinating services, connecting them with community resources, and supporting treatment plan implementation under supervisor direction
  • Monitor program premises to maintain safety, sanitation, and adherence to all program expectations and curfews
  • Complete orientation, education, referral, and record keeping functions while participating in collaborative team planning
  • Serve as an appropriate role model and maintain professional behavior consistent with agency philosophy and CPRC team standards
  • Operate company vehicle for client transportation and program business needs as required
  • Attend scheduled staff meetings and demonstrate commitment to the long-term and short-term goals of the program

Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Two (2) years of responsible employment history required
  • Thorough knowledge of case management and rehabilitation methods, principles, and techniques as they relate to mental health services
  • Knowledge of policies, procedures, and regulations related to assigned program
  • Detailed knowledge of challenges faced by persons with mental illness living in the community and how to access available community resources
  • Considerable knowledge of methods, modalities, legal requirements, and court procedures related to treating mental illness and substance use
  • Ability to develop, coordinate, and evaluate services within assigned program responsibilities
  • Capability to communicate ideas clearly and produce clear, concise reports

Additional Qualifications:

  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age to operate a company-owned vehicle
  • Must be at least twenty-three (23) years of age to operate a company-owned fifteen (15) passenger van
  • Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance required
  • Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint check required
     

Physical Requirements

  • Classified as Sedentary Work by ADA standards
  • Exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects, including the human body
  • Perform repetitive movements of hands, fingers, and arms for typing and/or writing during work shift
  • Involve sitting most of the time but may require walking or standing for brief periods
  • Walking and standing required only occasionally if all other sedentary criteria are met
