To perform investigation and collection of evidence in criminal cases and to present the information obtained for review and filing of charges; to respond to major or complicated crime scenes; and to work with other detectives, investigators from other jurisdictions, public and private attorneys, patrol officers on scene, witnesses, suspects, and victims.
REQUIREMENTS
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience:
Two years of responsible police experience.
Preferred Training:
Equivalent to an Associate of Arts degree or 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours from an accredited community college or university with major course work in police science, criminal justice or a related field.
Certificates and Licenses
Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid Arizona driver's license within two months of hire.
Possession of a Peace Officer certification. Â AZ POST Preferred.
Possession of, or ability to obtain, Arizona Criminal Justice Information System (ACJIS) Level B certification.
