Summary:Â
Under general supervision, maintains service operations by inspecting and maintaining trucks. Responsible for keeping equipment available for use by inspecting and performing diagnostic testing of trucks. Complete preventative maintenance such as engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation, and tire changes, wheel balancing and replacing filters. Maintains vehicle functional condition by listening to driver complaints, conducting inspections, repairing engine failures, repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components; repairing body damage.
 Primary duties and responsibilities:
- Maintains service operations by inspecting and maintaining trucksÂ
- Responsible for keeping equipment available for use by inspecting and performing diagnostic testing of trucksÂ
- Completing preventative maintenance, such as engine tune-ups, oil changes, and tire changes, replacing filtersÂ
- Maintains vehicle functional condition by listening to driver complaints, conducting inspections, repairing engine failures, repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components; repairing body damageÂ
- Installs repairs and maintains diesel truck engines. Examines trucks, repair, and overhaul, and adjust truck brake systemsÂ
- Installs and repair air conditioners and service componentsÂ
- Performs diagnostic engine repair. Diagnose and repair anti-lock braking systemÂ
- Conducts routine D.O.T. truck inspections and maintenanceÂ
- Adjust and realign brakesÂ
- Test drives vehiclesÂ
- Reviews work orders and discusses with Fleet ManagerÂ
- Follows check list to ensure all important parts are examinedÂ
- Provides road repair on vehicles as neededÂ
- Other related duties as assignedÂ
 Education and Skills Requirements:
- Two (2) or more years experience working on diesel trucks/vehiclesÂ
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the truck maintenance fieldÂ
- Possesses a Motor Vehicle Mechanic Certification is highly preferredÂ
- Possesses a Medium/Heavy Truck Technician Certification (Diesel Engines) is preferredÂ
- CDL A-B with Hazmat endorsement is preferredÂ
- Must be comfortable using Microsoft suite (word, email, data entry)
- High School Diploma or EquivalentÂ
- Certified Heavy-Duty Diesel mechanic with HazmatÂ
- Â Engine Performance & Brakes Certification is preferredÂ
 Physical Requirements and responsibilities:
- Able to lift 50lbs. frequently, up to 100lbs. occasionally
- Able to bend, stand, walk, sit, push, and pull
- Able to stand on feet for majority of shift
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer including keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment
 Supervisory ResponsibilityÂ
 This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

 May be exposed to varied temperatures at times (heat/cold).  May be subjected to loud noises, hazardous materials/chemicals, running machinery,Â
