Qualifications


Position Summary:

 

Under direct supervision, the IT Intern assists with the day-to-day operation and support of IT systems, services, and projects across the organization. This entry-level role provides hands-on experience in troubleshooting, technical support, and basic administration of end-user devices, applications, and infrastructure. The IT Intern works closely with IT team members, learning foundational skills and best practices while contributing to operational tasks and project activities. Work is closely monitored, and the IT Intern does not lead initiatives, but supports all aspects of IT operations as assigned.

 

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Technical Support Assistance: Provide basic support for hardware, software, and network issues under direct supervision, assisting IT team members with troubleshooting and resolving helpdesk tickets.
  • Device Setup and Configuration: Assist with the setup, configuration, and deployment of end-user devices, including computers, mobile devices, and printers.
  • User Account and Access Support: Help with user account creation, password resets, and access management tasks as directed by IT staff.
  • Documentation and Inventory: Maintain and update IT documentation, asset inventories, and records as assigned.
  • Application and Collaboration Platform Support: Assist with basic support for applications, Microsoft 365 services, and collaboration tools.
  • Project Participation: Support IT projects and initiatives by performing assigned tasks, gathering information, and assisting with implementation activities.
  • Security and Compliance Support: Follow IT security policies and procedures, assist with basic compliance activities, and report any issues to supervisors.
  • Learning and Development: Actively participate in training, shadow IT professionals, and seek opportunities to learn foundational IT skills and best practices.
  • General IT Operations Assistance: Perform other IT-related tasks as assigned, supporting users, systems, software applications, and infrastructure under supervision.
