Vaughan Regional is currently seeking to fill a PRN-Respiratory Therapist position. In this role you will provide vital therapy treatments and relief for patients suffering from respiratory illness. Keep accurate records of the treatment and the patient's response.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct physician-prescribed treatments of a routine nature
  • Perform chest physical therapy treatments which involve percussion, postural drainage or suctioning; perform airway management including trach tube changes, Passy-Muir Valve monitoring, and intubation or extubation; set up, operate and monitor ventilators
  • Record resident treatment, education and response to care
  • Submit accurate billing and documentation in accordance with RT protocol, Scion Health policy and state/federal regulations
  • Conduct in-servicing and competency testing of nursing staff
  • Handle job responsibilities in accordance with the Company's Code of Business Conduct, the Corporate Compliance Agreement, appropriate professional standards and applicable state/federal laws


 

Qualifications:

  • The Therapist must have knowledge of medical terminology, respiratory protocols and RT intervention, and be able to react decisively in emergency situations
  • We are looking for a graduate of an AMA-approved school for Respiratory Technology with state licensing as required
  • Effective communication with residents, their families and at all levels of the organization is a must
