Lineman Superintendent

Saber Power Services is seeking an experienced and safety-focused Lineman Superintendent to lead field operations for transmission and distribution projects. This position is responsible for providing overall field supervision, coordinating crews and equipment, maintaining project schedules, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive line construction experience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple crews and field activities in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily field operations for overhead and underground transmission and distribution projects.Â
- Lead and manage linemen, foremen, apprentices, groundmen, and subcontractor personnel.Â
- Plan and coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and work activities to meet project schedules.Â
- Review project drawings, specifications, work plans, and job requirements to ensure crews understand scope and expectations.Â
- Oversee the construction, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground power lines and associated equipment.Â
- Supervise activities including pole setting, structure installation, conductor stringing and sagging, splicing, terminating, connecting, and installation of line equipment.Â
- Coordinate work involving transformers, switchgear, substations, and transmission/substation tie-ins.Â
- Ensure crews properly operate aerial lifts, bucket trucks, digger derricks, cranes, and other line construction equipment.Â
- Conduct and participate in daily tailboard meetings, job briefings, safety meetings, and pre-task planning.Â
- Enforce company safety policies, OSHA requirements, NESC standards, and applicable utility safety procedures.Â
- Monitor jobsite conditions and ensure appropriate fall protection, PPE, grounding, and other safety measures are implemented.Â
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Foremen, customers, subcontractors, and other project personnel regarding field progress and issues.Â
- Monitor productivity, work quality, manpower utilization, and project progress.Â
- Identify potential schedule, material, manpower, or equipment issues and communicate them to project management.Â
- Assist with material planning, equipment coordination, and maintaining adequate resources for field operations.Â
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, specifications, and construction drawings.Â
- Troubleshoot field and electrical issues and provide technical guidance to crews.Â
- Train, mentor, and develop linemen, apprentices, and other field personnel.Â
- Ensure proper documentation of daily activities, production, safety, manpower, and equipment usage.Â
- Support emergency response and storm restoration activities as required.Â
- Work in various weather conditions and travel to project locations as required.Â
- Perform other job-related duties as requested by management.Â

Qualifications:
- Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical transmission and distribution line construction and maintenance, with demonstrated leadership experience.Â
- Journeyman Lineman certification or equivalent qualification preferred.Â
- Extensive experience with overhead and underground electrical construction.Â
- Experience working on high-voltage transmission systems (69kV to 500kV) and/or substation tie-ins.Â
- Experience with live-line work, including rubber glove and/or hot stick methods.Â
- Previous experience as a Lineman Foreman, General Foreman, Superintendent, or similar field leadership role.Â
- Class A CDL required or the ability to obtain one within 60 days.Â
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, NESC, utility safety practices, and electrical construction standards.Â
- First Aid/CPR and OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.Â
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, specifications, and job plans.Â
- Strong understanding of line construction methods, equipment, materials, and field operations.Â
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Â
- Ability to effectively manage multiple crews and coordinate field activities.Â
- Ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication with project management.Â
- Must be willing to travel and work extended hours, weekends, and emergency response assignments as project needs require.Â
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
