Sequoia Services is seeking a detail-oriented and field-capable Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support the successful execution of a large-scale dam construction project. The APM will assist in managing daily construction operations, subcontractor coordination, schedule tracking, cost control, safety compliance, and client communication. This role requires strong organizational skills, technical construction knowledge, and the ability to operate effectively in a heavy civil/infrastructure environment. Key Responsibilities Project Coordination & Administration
- Support the Project Manager in overseeing all phases of dam construction.
- Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules (Primavera or MS Project).
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field crews.
- Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and meeting minutes.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting.
- Assist in tracking project budgets and forecasting costs.
- Review invoices, pay applications, and subcontractor billing.
- Support procurement and materials tracking.
- Monitor production quantities and assist with cost analysis.
- Conduct regular site walks to monitor progress and compliance.
- Coordinate with superintendents on daily work plans.
- Support quality control inspections and documentation.
- Assist in resolving field conflicts and logistical challenges.
- Ensure adherence to OSHA and project-specific safety standards.
- Support implementation of Sequoia Services’ EH&S policies.
- Participate in safety meetings and incident reporting.
- Assist in preparing progress reports for owners and engineers.
- Participate in coordination meetings with regulatory agencies.
- Support documentation for inspections and environmental compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2–5 years of experience in heavy civil, infrastructure, or dam construction.
- Working knowledge of:
- Earthwork operations
- Concrete placement
- Structural components
- Water control/diversion systems
- Experience with project management software.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Experience on dam, levee, or large water infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of:
- USACE standards
- Environmental compliance requirements
- Heavy equipment operations
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Procore or similar project management platform experience.
