JOB SUMMARY:
Â
Provides direct and indirect patient care activities under direct supervision. Assists
patients with activities of daily living, providing for personal care, comfort, and
assistance when necessary.Â

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Â
Experience: Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Previous experience preferred
Â
Education: Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Currently enrolled in high school or equivalent
Â
Req. Cert./ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Current C.N.A certificate in the state where employed, CPR Â certified. Computer and clerical experience desirable

JOB DUTIES (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)
Â
- Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, continuous quality improvement program, environmental and infection control standards.
Â
- Performs basic nursing procedures, including collection of lab specimens, thermal applications, application of simple dressing, and perineal care.
Â
- Obtains and documents patient vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, weight, respiration, pulse, intake and output.
Â
- Assist in admission, transfer, and dismissal procedures of the patient.
Â
- Provides personal care assistance to patients, including bathing, dressing, eating, bed pans, transportation, skin care, oral care and positioning.
Â
- Keeps the patient’s room straightened and clean.
Â
- Maintains patient documentation as outlined by hospital policy.
Â
- Maintains confidentiality of all patient data. Use complete discretion when discussing patient information.
Â
- Maintains patient records and charts to ensure an accurate record of medical treatment.
Â
- Demonstrates sensitivity to patient comfort and privacy and maintains professionalism.
Â
- Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings as required.
Â
- Orders supplies for nursing floor and ER units as needed from central supply.
Â
- Follows all hospital infection prevention policies, including proper hand hygiene, use of PPE, and ensures patient care equipment is cleaned, disinfected, and stored appropriately after each use.
Â
- Monitors and restocks patient care areas with necessary supplies.
