Position Summary:

Instruct members on the proper use of all exercise equipment at the Fitness Center.  Also responsible for monitoring members' heart rates, demonstrating proper stretching techniques, as well as monitoring and updating the fitness programs of members.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor members' workouts and update their programs upon every visit.
  • Orient members to the use of equipment, as well as teach members proper warm up and cool down exercises.
  • Clean and maintain fitness equipment and area.
  • Co-ordinate and promote a minimum of two member fitness activities per year.
  • Motivate and greet members before and during their workout.
  • Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
  • Perform other related duties as needed or requested.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:           

None specified; will accept any combination of formal education and/or prior work experience sufficient to demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skill and ability needed to perform the essential tasks of the job, typically such as would be equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree. Preference may be given to individuals possessing a Bachelor’s degree in a directly-related field from an accredited college or university.

 

Minimum Experience:         

Experience and knowledge of fitness equipment and principles of weight training necessary. Strong communication skills required.
