Under supervision, provides a total health oriented recreation program in both individual and group settings to include:  physical, creative arts, social, orientation, validation, reminiscence, sensory stimulation, living skills, esteem building and intellectual stimulation for residents of LTC and swing bed patients.  Adapts groups to the individual needs of residents with varying degrees of physical and mental disabilities.  Provides special activities to meet the special needs of the cognitively impaired and the diverse cultural mix of the residents.  Under supervision, assesses and sets recreational goals and objectives for residents, evaluates progress or identifies regression, and documents daily attendance.  Requires participation in Interdisciplinary Care Conference.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training: Two years of college.
  • 1 year as a health care provider in a health care facility.
  • 6 months as an activity therapy assistant.

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position.  The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
