Job DetailsJob Location: Seward, NE 68434Position Type: Full-Time/Part-Time  CMA (Certified Medication Aide)  Provides administering of medications to residents as ordered by the attending physician, under the direction of the attending physician, the nurse supervisor or charge nurse, and the Director of Nursing Services. The administration of medications shall be in accordance with established nursing standards, the policies, procedures, and practices of this facility, and the requirements of this state. Provides direct care to residents following the individualized care plan. Essential Duties: Exercises independent judgment and discretion in the performance of personnel tasks with the understanding that the responsibilities are not routine or limited to resident care matters. Maintains a clean, safe environment in the community. As per state regulations and completion of required training/certification, administers or assists with self-administration of medication and treatments as prescribed by the health care provider. Observes resident’s response to existing treatment plan, is aware of prominent medication interactions and side effects, and observes resident for occurrence of such and notifies supervisor. Adheres to community infection control policies and procedures. Responsible for daily documentation in resident records according to state regulations where applicable, such as completing necessary forms, charts, reports, etc., and submit these as may be required. Observes and documents the health and emotional condition of each resident, promptly reporting all changes to the supervisor. Follow the facility’s procedures allowing residents to self-administer his or her medications. Monitoring and documenting all aspects of such self-administering. Exhibits understanding of and follows medication policies and procedures. Receives report on all residents.  Provides direct resident care. Must be a licensed Certified Medication Aide having successfully completed a state approved training program and any necessary examination(s) in accordance with laws of this State. Prefer prior experience in AL or SNU. Prefer prior experience as a certified medication aide for a least 1 year. Specific Requirements:      Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.      Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public.      Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents      Must provide documentation of certification upon application for the position.
