Nurse Aide Shift Available:Â
- Daylight: 6:00am-2:30pm, every other weekend (+1.00 on weekends)
- Afternoon: 2:00pm-10:30pm, every other weekend ($1.00 shift differential, +1.00 on weekends)
- Caring, compassionate, and understanding
- Have a high school diploma, GED diploma or active registry status on the Pennsylvania nurse aide registry
- 18 years of age or older
- Be free from a medical condition, including drug or alcohol addiction that would limit the staff person from providing necessary personal care services with reasonable skill and safety
- Excellent customer service and hospitality skills
- Nurse Aides with Medication Administration responsibilities will need additional qualifications:Â
1) successful completion of the DPW-approved medications course that includes the passing of the DPW’s performance-based competency test within the past 2 years to be able to administer oral, topical, eye, nose and ear drop prescription medication, and epinephrine injections for insect bites or other allergies2) successful completion of a DPW-approved diabetes patient education program within the past 12 months to be able to administer insulin injections
SPEAKING
Ability to speak clearly and effectively with residents, families, coworkers and other groups of customers. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, policies and procedures, and operating instructions. Ability to write routine reports, notes and correspondence.

           HEARING
Hearing level or accommodations sufficient to use the telephone and to communicate with residents, families, coworkers and other groups of customers.

           SEEING
Vision level or accommodations sufficient to perform functions to/from/within buildings, rooms, apartments, to complete/review required reports, notes, documentation and to use a computer. Near/far acuity and depth perception are required to operate equipment.

           TWISTING/BENDING
Climbing, balancing, stooping, bending and twisting, grasping and feeling, standing, sitting, walking for up to 90% day, pushing, pulling, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, lifting above the head. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds or move up to 50 pounds independently. Â

           REPETITIVE MOTIONS
Repetitive motions include writing, typing or entering information on the computer and hand motions that are used to work with the residents.

           WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Temperature range from outside seasonal temperatures to inside temperatures of 65-80 degrees, varying if you work in laundry or kitchen. Each service line has a list of hazardous materials used. May be exposed to blood and body fluids, which may contain HIV and/or HBV. May be exposed to combative residents.Â
