Job DetailsJob Location: CT - Seymour, CT 06483  Job Title: Quote Engineer  Department: Sourcing Supervisor: Director of Sourcing FLSA Status: Non-exempt   Introduction: Microboard Processing, Inc. (Microboard), located in Seymour, CT is a privately held, completely state-of-the-art Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) provider that has been in business for 40 years. We are relentless with our continuous improvement philosophy as well as our equipment, software and human capabilities, employing the brightest minds and the newest equipment (FUJI NXT III SMT, Automated climate-controlled inventory towers, 5D X-Rays, in-line SPI’s and AOI’s, on-site Nitrogen Generation, etc.). We are constantly pursuing global certifications to maintain Microboard at the leading edge of technology with a keen sensitivity to our environment (ISO 9001:2008, ISO 13485, AS9100D, ISO14001, CE, UL, ITAR.) Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Quote Engineer Duties and Responsibilities: Review customer quote technical data packages to ensure all necessary technical data is provided and coordinate with Program Management / Business Development to resolve missing or unclear technical data requirements. Prepare quote technical reviews for leadership teams as part of business case development and determination of technical suitability / organizational alignment. Assist Sourcing with supplier quote package preparation, bill of material (BOM) conditioning, evaluation of special requirements, and review of make/buy analysis for custom components. Engage and support inquiries from other key departments (Engineering, Operations, Test, etc.) on deliverables needed to support quote efforts. Create baseline process flow assumptions at time of quote for use in quoting and future state production planning. Perform time studies to ensure labor estimating assumptions are reasonable and accurate. Advise Sourcing and other applicable departments of changes to build assumptions at time of order for potential cost recovery as result of technical review process. Support evaluation of planned labor performance to actual labor performance activities. Take on special projects as needed/directed. QualificationsQualifications: Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced level Excel required – VLOOKUP & Pivot tables). Infor LN ERP System experience a plus. Quote software experience a plus. MRP/ERP system experience a plus. Must be a strong team player, fast learner and able to multitask. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering field or equivalent work experience.  Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering fields a plus. Language Skills: Ability to read and speak English fluently. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.   Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
