Job Description:

 

Performs skilled carpentry and construction trade work involving cabinetry, framing, concrete, and asphalt in the maintenance, repair, and construction of park, restaurant, and office facilities and related structures. Utilizes hand and power tools, shop equipment, and heavy machinery commonly associated with the carpentry and construction trades. Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, and construction plans to determine material requirements, dimensions, and methods for fabrication and installation. Responsibilities include structural repairs, finish carpentry, and construction support for park facilities, as well as specialized work on wooden roller coasters and routine maintenance and repair of fiberglass water slides.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily inspections, repairs, and maintenance on wooden roller coaster track.
  • Operate heavy equipment and jobsite machinery, including forklifts, JLG/aerial lifts, saws, and two‑way radios.
  • Use precision measuring devices and a full range of carpentry, concrete, landscaping, and mechanical tools.
  • Safely move, install, service, and maintain machinery, tools, and assigned equipment.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and OSHA‑compliant work areas.
  • Cut, shape, assemble, and repair structures using materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, and drywall.
  • Utilize hand and power tools including chisels, planes, saws, drills, sanders, and related trade equipment.
  • Fasten and assemble materials using nails, screws, staples, adhesives, and other industry‑standard methods.
  • Perform work at elevation using ladders, scaffolding, and structural beams while maintaining proper fall‑protection and safety practices.
  • Inspect work continuously to ensure compliance with building codes, specifications, and safety standards.
  • Use levels, straightedges, framing squares, plumb bobs, and surveying tools to ensure accuracy and structural integrity.
  • Assemble and install prefabricated structures; build stairs; install cabinets, trim, and molding.
  • Install, repair, and maintain roofing and siding systems.
  • Remodel offices and facilities; construct concrete forms; erect and dismantle scaffolding systems.
  • Replace glass panes, ceiling tiles, and doors; fabricate or repair furniture as needed.
  • Install partitions, doors, and windows per specifications.
  • Accurately document daily work activities and completed tasks.
  • Read and work from blueprints, drawings, and written instructions to ensure finished work meets design specifications.
  • Plan and execute inspections, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs for park equipment and vehicles.
  • Support vehicle maintenance programs, including servicing and mechanical repairs.
  • Apply basic plumbing and HVAC skills as needed (preferred, not required).
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support maintenance and construction operations.

Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Strong verbal communication skills for effective coordination on job sites.
  • Ability to complete written documentation clearly and accurately.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings (preferred).
  • Proficient with power and hand tools commonly used in carpentry and mechanical trades.
  • Demonstrated experience identifying equipment issues and performing corrective repairs.
  • High level of familiarity working in shop and field environments.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a skilled trades team.
  • Strong time‑management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable working at heights, including ladders, scaffolding, and elevated structures.
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by operational needs.
