As an Aircraft Maintenance Manager I, you will guide aircraft maintenance processes, ensuring that maintenance training procedures are performed safely and efficiently with safety and quality in mind. You will be responsible for planning and scheduling training activities, supervising maintenance repairmen and ensuring proper procedures are followed. This role requires strong leadership skills and a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards. To include a strong quality mindset and mission driven.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and schedule aircraft maintenance and repair training activities to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.

  • Supervise and manage maintenance personnel, ensuring they are qualified and adhere to safety standards and procedures.

  • Establish work standards and schedules to maximize efficiency on maintenance projects.

  • Analyze maintenance delays and system issues to develop and implement process improvements.

  • Ensure the airworthiness and safe operation of the fleet at all times, except for platform support programs.

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections. To include required tracking and retention.

  • Liaise with other departments and stakeholders to coordinate maintenance activities and resolve issues.

  • Stay updated with industry developments, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

  • 7+ years of aviation experience.

  • Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 11 years of related experience is required.

  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification.

  • Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, maintenance procedures, and regulatory requirements [e.g., FAA, European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA)].

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Experience with aviation safety standards and safe operating practices.

  • General knowledge and understanding of FAA regulations, policies, and procedures.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).

  • Experience with Aircraft Maintenance and Inspection processes and procedures and/or returning planes to service.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Master’s degree in Aviation Management, Engineering, or related field.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

  • Familiarity with Workday Skills Cloud.

  • Experience with Six Sigma or Lean methodologies.

  • Previous management or lead experience; the ability to recruit employees; assign, direct, and evaluate their work; and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.

  • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Inspection Authorization (IA) Designation.

  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.

  • Perform physical inspections of aircraft components.

  • Work in loud environments with exposure to hazardous materials.

  • Occasionally travel for inspections and training.

  • Adapt to flexible working hours, including night and weekend shifts.

SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-U.S. citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF), a federal government agency, handles the adjudicative aspects of the security clearance eligibility process for industry applicants. Adjudicative factors which affect the outcome of the eligibility determination include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the U.S., foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and illegal drug use.
