Position Overview: 


The Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing all procurement activities related to low voltage systems and commercial audio-visual equipment. This role ensures timely, cost-effective purchasing to support all low voltage technology systems as well as AV integration projects, service work, and internal inventory needs. The Procurement Manager collaborates closely with the project management, engineering, sales, and warehouse teams to maintain efficient supply chain operations and vendor relationships across both sectors.

 

Key Responsibilities:


Procurement & Materials Management 

- Review project Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation to determine purchasing needs for low voltage and audio-visual products. 

- Create, process, and track all purchase orders for low voltage systems, AV equipment, hardware, accessories, and subcontracted services. 

          They would NOT include any Subcontracted services that require an onsite presence.

- Monitor lead times, shipping schedules, and delivery timelines to prevent project delays. 

- Identify product alternatives when items are discontinued, backordered, or delayed.

 

Vendor & Supplier Relations 

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers and distributors in both low voltage and AV sectors. 

- Negotiate pricing, terms, freight rates, and warranty conditions with suppliers. 

- Maintain a preferred vendor list and evaluate supplier performance regularly. 

- Handle escalations for backorders, RMAs, DOAs, or shipping discrepancies.

 

Inventory & Logistics 

- Work with warehouse teams to ensure accurate receiving, kitting, and staging of project materials. 

- Maintain and manage inventory levels of standard-use low voltage and AV products and consumables. 

- Coordinate returns, replacements, and RMA processes. 

- Ensure accurate documentation for all receiving records, packing lists, and invoices.

 

Project & Cross Department Support 

- Support project managers with real-time updates on procurement status and lead times. 

- Collaborate with engineering to confirm product specifications and compatibility for both low voltage and AV systems. 

- Assist sales and estimating teams with pricing validation and availability checks. 

- Help prioritize urgent orders for fast-track jobs or service requirements.

 

Financial & Administrative Control 

- Maintain all procurement records, cost history, and vendor documentation. 

- Ensure material purchases remain within project budget constraints. 

- Reconcile invoices with finance and assist with month-end reporting. 

- Track and report KPIs related to cost savings, on-time delivery, and inventory accuracy.

 

Required Qualifications: 

- 3+ years of purchasing or supply chain experience (AV, low-voltage, IT, or construction preferred). 

- Strong understanding of commercial AV manufacturers (e.g., Crestron, QSC, Biamp, Extron, Shure, Samsung, LG) and low voltage systems. 

- Proficiency with ERP/CRM systems and Microsoft 365 tools. 

- Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills. 

- Ability to read and interpret BOMs, drawings, and technical specifications. 

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

- Experience working within a commercial AV integration or low voltage firm. 

- CTS, or supply chain-related certifications. 

- Familiarity with warehousing, freight logistics, and RMA workflows. 

- Experience managing long-lead materials in project-based environments.
