Hours for this job are Monday through Friday from 7:30 am until 5 pm and a generally voluntary Saturday shift from 7:30 am until noon Starting wage range is typically $25-35/hr and varies by experience level As a Service Technician you will become a trusted partner to our customers as you service, repair, recondition and assemble customer and dealership equipment, new and used.  You must maintain and operate shop equipment and tools, performing quality work, as quickly and profitably as possible.  Majority of work is done in the shop, but some field travel may be required.   Essential Functions: 1.     Accepts repair orders as assigned by the Service Manager, Assistant Service Manager, Service Writer or assigned person. 2.     Diagnose problems and determine what repairs are needed.  Coordinate with Service office staff in communicating necessary repairs to customer and obtaining approvals. 3.     Repair, service, recondition or assemble equipment as approved by the customer/Service Manager. 4.     Obtains necessary parts working cooperatively with Parts Department staff.  Notifies Service Manager when parts orders need to be expedited. 5.     Completes service inspections on equipment, making recommendations on repairs needed. 6.     Works to control come-backs, giving them special attention so as not to happen again. 7.     Promotes marketing programs to customers in an effort to drive sales. 8.     Participates in after-hours program, carrying the pager for a week at a time.  Responds to after-hours calls in a timely, professional manner.  Seeks assistance for technical matters which may be unfamiliar. 9.     Communicates with customers in a positive, professional manner demonstrating patience in explaining repairs.  Thanks customers for the work. 10.   Notifies Service Manager of safety issues and/or accidents immediately. 11.   Accurately documents time and work performed on forms provided in a legible and complete manner. 12.   Conducts work in a safe manner, wearing safety glasses & steel toed shoes and following other company safety guidelines. 13.   Attends meetings, training sessions, and other company events and participates in a positive, professional manner. 14.   Stays up-to-date on technical changes, product developments, manufacturer releases, etc.   Attends training as required. 15.   Maintains a clean, neat and safe work area and the shop in general.  16    Presents a positive, professional image in conduct and dress at all times. 17.   All other duties as assigned. Qualifications1.      Three plus years of previous related experience preferred. 2.      Associates Degree in agricultural equipment, diesel technology, and/or other equipment preferred. 3.      Knowledge of farm equipment preferred. 4.      Must have own tools. 5.      Must have a valid driver’s license and insurable driving history.
