Job Summary:

This role is responsible for management of material flow (internally and externally) to the organization.  This includes management of the warehouse and shipping activities, overseeing the loading/unloading of outgoing/incoming material, and management of all Traffic, Logistics and Warehouse personnel. 

Job Responsibilities & Essential Functions of the Job:

Safety

Talent Management

  • Drive efficiency and transactional discipline mindset throughout your organization.
  • Develop staff by coaching, counseling, mentoring, motivating, and training direct reports using a continuous improvement approach while holding employees accountable and monitoring progress.
  • Employ a variety of communication strategies to improve employee engagement and ensure employees understand, are regularly updated, and aligned on the business and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with other departments to improve cross functional communication and operational efficiencies.
  • Develop a high performing organization through the recruitment, development, and retention of the team.
  • Drive communication to ensure understanding of the business and strategic objectives through clear definition of roles and responsibilities.

Quality/Continuous Improvement

  • Provide leadership towards continuous improvement in both quality and productivity.
  • Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements.
  • Ensure consistent shipping, warehouse and transportation processes are implemented i.e. truck loading, warehouse improvement process, scheduling and inventory management.
  • Establishes and maintains good housekeeping practices throughout facility – create a system so there is a place for everything, and everything is in its place, establish orderly flow, eliminate waste, organize the workplace, and sustain established procedures; lead-by-example.

 

Productivity/Cost Controls

  • Strategically plan and manage materials, logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer services
  • Develop, revise, and maintain standard operational and working practices.
  • Direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle.
  • Arrange warehouse, catalog goods, plan routes and process shipments.
  • Keep track of quality, quantity, stocking levels, delivery times, transportation costs, and overall efficiency. 
  • Promote and develop comprehensive internal controls to ensure compliance with US and foreign regulations in the conduct of international supply chain and freight movement activities.
  • Evaluates and understands conditions to maintain, control, and reduce costs.
  • Monitor, control and communicate activities per agreed budget and KPI’s.
  • Communicate and work with all other departments to best meet established customer expectations, reduce total supply chain cost and improve distribution operations.
  • Investigate and resolve complex, cross functional and multi-location export and import compliance issues.
  • Deliver on short- and long-term commitments.
  • Develop departmental budget, resource plans, and ensure that there are the resources in place to act on them.
  • Create and maintain training and audit assessment programs to ensure implementation and effectiveness of internal controls.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Education generally equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent practical experience), preferably in an Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business.
  • Requires 6+ years of job-related experience.
  • 3+ years of previous manufacturing leadership experience.
  • Requires a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Preferred knowledge of Solid Edge and AutoCad.
  • Preferred knowledge of ERP.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects.
  • Must be able to collaborate with others (including in person) to proactively develop solutions.
