Description

  

Gembala, McLaughlin & Pecora Co., LPA is a full-service law firm seeking a probate paralegal to join its Estate Administration and Probate Department. This candidate will assist the attorneys in opening estates from start to finish, including but not limited to managing the administration of deceased persons' estates, preparing/filing court documents, handling asset valuation, beneficiary notifications, fiduciary accountings, and tax return preparation.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Court      Filings & Procedures: Preparing, filing, and serving probate      petitions, inventories, and final accountings with the probate court.
  • Estate      Administration: Managing the probate process from opening to closing,      including inventorying assets, communicating with beneficiaries, and      transferring titles.
  • Asset      Management: Compiling financial information, coordinating with      financial institutions, and assisting with tax valuations.
  • Client      Communication: Acting as a primary contact for fiduciaries and      beneficiaries, providing updates, and gathering information.
  • Calendar      Management: Tracking court deadlines, hearings, and tax filing      dates. 

This candidate should possess the following skills:

  • Handle      probate and trust administration cases;
  • Independently      manage assigned cases and docket;
  • Work      effectively with other firm attorneys and professional staff;
  • Provide      timely and professional communications to clients;
  • Effectively      manage the attorneys schedule and upcoming court deadlines.

Requirements

 Ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Experience      in Probate Administration and understanding of courts probate procedures;
  • Excellent      written and oral communication skills;
  • Attention      to detail and willingness to take ownership of assigned tasks;
