Opportunity

The Deli Manager is responsible for effective overall operation of the Deli Department to achieve sales and profit goals established for the department.

Key Responsibilites

  • Greet customers within 10 feet and respond to questions promptly.
  • Provide accurate product information and recommendations.
  • Create weekly schedules to ensure department coverage.
  • Train staff on store procedures and operational standards.
  • Manage inventory for freshness, quality, and proper stock levels while minimizing waste.
  • Verify deliveries against invoices for accuracy and condition, submit required reports and maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure correct pricing based on margin guidelines and department goals.
  • Record price changes, in-store usage, voids, refunds, and spoilage per policy.
  • Develop merchandising plans with the Store Manager and set department goals.
  • Stock and rotate products following approved procedures for quality and compliance.
  • Monitor product temperatures and adhere to health codes.
  • Maintain clean, well-stocked, and visually appealing displays.
  • Communicate effectively with management, associates, and customers.
  • Handle damaged or spoiled goods according to company policy.
  • Monitor the area for hazards and maintain a safe environment.
  • Adhere to scheduled hours and store rules.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Previous deli experience is preferred.
  • SERV Safe Certification is preferred.
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing needs especially during times of high volume and/or stress.
  • Must be able to read and do simple math problems. 
  • Wants to be part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • 18 years of age or older.
