For more than 50 years, NMHSI—a nonprofit community health center—has been committed to improving the health and wellness of communities across Northwest Michigan. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Dentist to join our Shelby dental team in beautiful Oceana County.

About the Role

The Dentist plays a key role in providing high-quality, patient-centered dental care for individuals and families, including uninsured and underserved populations. This position includes preventive care, diagnosis, treatment, and patient education to support long-term oral health.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive preventive and restorative dental services

  • Diagnose dental diseases and create appropriate treatment plans

  • Perform fillings, crowns, bridges, root canals, extractions, and dentures

  • Deliver anesthesia and supervise nitrous oxide use as needed

  • Educate patients on treatment plans and oral hygiene practices

  • Maintain accurate electronic dental records

  • Collaborate with medical and behavioral health providers as part of an integrated care team

  • Uphold infection control, PPE standards, and clinical safety protocols

Qualifications

  • Doctoral Degree (DDS or DMD)

  • Active Michigan Dental License

  • Active DEA license

  • Two or more years of dentistry experience preferred (not required)

  • Experience in community health preferred

  • Bilingual English/Spanish helpful, but not required
