Job Description

Join Central Valley Ag as a Fuel & Propane Delivery Driver serving farms, homes, businesses, and communities throughout our central Nebraska Energy territory. This position combines commercial driving, customer service, route responsibility, fuel and propane delivery, and hands-on propane service work.

A CDL or previous fuel and propane delivery experience is not required at hire. CVA is looking for the right person—someone dependable, committed, and willing and able to learn. We will provide training and support to help the selected candidate obtain the required CDL and qualifications.

You will take responsibility for completing assigned deliveries, caring for your truck and equipment, maintaining accurate records, and providing the reliable service CVA customers depend on. Daily priorities and routes are coordinated as a team, but the work requires initiative and self-direction without constant supervision.

This is a strong opportunity for a motivated person who wants to contribute to agriculture, develop specialized Energy-industry skills, and build a long-term career with a farmer-owned cooperative.

This position is posted from CVA’s Shelby location. Applicants may live anywhere within the Energy service area while meeting assigned reporting, route, and scheduling expectations.

What You’ll Do

  • Safely sell and deliver refined fuels, gasoline, propane, oil, and bulk oil after completing the required training and qualifications.
  • Work with the Energy team to coordinate deliveries and assist with route planning.
  • Provide professional customer service, support sales efforts, follow credit policies, and help address customer concerns.
  • Complete sales tickets and required records using a company-provided tablet.
  • Help track customer tanks and assist with propane, gasoline, and diesel inventories.
  • Perform propane service work after training, including leak checks, trenching, propane-line installation, and regulator replacement.
  • Coordinate with billing, delivery, ordering, and accounts receivable.
  • Help maintain delivery trucks, storage plants, the oil warehouse, buildings, and equipment.
  • Assist other CVA divisions and locations while following all CVA safety policies and applicable OSHA and DOT requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Why This Job

  • CDL training support: A CDL is not required at hire. CVA will train and support the right person through the qualification process.
  • Performance bonuses: Receive a bonus for every eligible gallon delivered and qualifying leak check completed.
  • Team environment: Work with CVA Energy employees and locations to serve customers safely and efficiently.
  • Meaningful responsibility: Take ownership of assigned work while contributing to shared team goals.
  • Variety: Combine driving, customer service, propane service, equipment care, and hands-on work.
  • Local impact: Support agriculture, local customers, and the communities CVA serves.
  • Industry experience: Develop valuable commercial driving, fuel, propane, safety, customer-service, and mechanical skills.

Benefits

  • 401(k) with Company Match
  • Pension Plan

What We’re Looking For

  • Dependable attendance, punctuality, and follow-through.
  • Commitment to safety, integrity, and responsible work.
  • Willingness and ability to learn commercial driving, fuel delivery, and propane service.
  • Initiative and self-direction without requiring constant supervision.
  • Ability to contribute effectively as part of a coordinated team.
  • Professional communication and customer-service skills.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to care for vehicles and equipment.
  • Ability to use a tablet and complete records accurately.
  • Ability to organize priorities and manage multiple responsibilities.
