Job Summary
As a Horticulturist at Paradise Landscaping, you will play a crucial role in promoting healthy growth and enhancing the beauty of lawns and plantings. Your responsibilities include pruning, mulching, fertilizer and insecticide applications, and making watering adjustments. The Horticulturist will actively contribute to the overall health and development of plants, perennials, and annuals, solving client problems related to plant health care.

This field position, reporting to the president or assistant, may lead a small team (1-2 additional members) based on workload and seasonal demands.

Responsibilities 
  • Plant identification and proper pruning techniques.
  • Inventory management and order processing.
  • Research industry standards and use quality products.
  • Safely operate equipment and perform daily maintenance.
  • Attend required meetings or inspections.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and technical data.
  • Communicate property conditions and field issues to management.
  • Complete assigned documentation tasks using a company-provided mobile device.
  • Operate and maintain equipment for applications.

Qualifications
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to build rapport
  • Horticultural knowledge, including plant healthcare, hand pruning, and selective pruning experience
  • Observational and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate professionally and interact with customers, expressing sincere concern for their needs
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Preferred:
    • Knowledge of common regional plants, irrigation, watering needs, drainage, turf, and lighting systems
    • Familiarity with pump operations
