Summary
Works with staff and volunteers to create age-appropriate environments and experiences for children to discover God, His Story and their place in it, with a focus on Birth through Pre-K. Shepherds and equips volunteers and looks for opportunities to encourage parents as the primary disciple-makers in their homes.  In all things, carries out the mission, vision, and values of Southeast Christian Church.

What You Will Be Doing:Â
- Recruits, processes, trains, and shepherds volunteer leaders to minister to children and families.
- Coordinates the scheduling of volunteers using Planning Center.
- Ensure current policies and best practices are adhered to within the ministry area to ensure safety and excellence.
- Prepares and implements weekly curriculum for small group environments.
- Setup and prep all classrooms for weekend services in partnership with Support Assistant and volunteers.
- Coordinates with Operations team regarding which classrooms will be open or closed for each worship service.
- Plan and execute events for children and volunteers, including family dedication and promotion weekend.
- Communicates frequently and effectively with volunteers and parents, including pastoral care, prayer, and encouragement.
- Performs administrative tasks.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Planning Center, and proficient in Rock database (or has ability to learn).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Administrative, organized, and flexible.
- Quick thinking and confident in decision making skills.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Naturally displays hospitality, encouragement, empathy, and leadership.

Our Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience organizing and leading volunteers.
- Resides in Shelby County or is willing to relocate within the first year. Â
- Engaged member of Southeast Christian Church, or willing to become one.
