Nesco Resource is hiring for Production Operators in Shelbyville, TN.
This position operates on a swing shift.8AM - 8PM, 8PM to 8AM - 12 hour shifts. One month days, next month nights, rotating monthly. This facility is not climate controllled.

12 hours shifts, 8a - 8p or 8p - 8a, on rotation

Pay Rate: $16.00 - $17.00

POSITION SUMMARY:
Hands-on position leading stretch-film production line(s). Will be involved in the production, productinspection, stocking, packaging and labeling operations. Act as a supervisor to other production team members, maintain efficiency of and quality of production, and interact effectively with other departments.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure a safe and orderly work environment and complywith all established safety guidelines.
  • Ensure products meet or exceed quality guidelines.
  • Ensures proper core extension, target roll weights, roll widths, and quality roll edges.
  • Performs and understands how to do all QA tests.
  • Ability to efficiently run Cast Line 1 or 2.
  • Maintains a scrap rate of <4%.
  • Good working knowledge of the NDC, how to correctly adjust die bolts, can efficiently troubleshoot gauge bands, roll edge quality problems, how to shim out die lines, and any other lines issues.
  • Responsible for investigation and corrective action for quality, machinery, or process-related problems.
  • Responsible for the quality of product made on production lines: examine product, comply with quality control processes, and troubleshoot problems.
  • Can efficiently perform all Change-overs, Size Change, Footage Counter Change, Resin Formula Change, and Gauge Change.
  • Possesses the ability to train new roll packers.
  • Operate computer systems associated with production lines, as needed.
  • Complete and maintain required logs and records. Fills out Production Report in its entirety.
  • Use quality instruments,and accurately document testing results.
  • Effectively communicate and interface with other departments/employees as necessary and in a positive and constructive manner to achieve the goals of the department.
  • Is involved with the shift in Housekeeping and focuses on maintaining the cleanliness of the Line 3.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned from Supervisor in its entirety and to be completed in a timely manner per AB stretch standards.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Prior production and/or manufacturingexperience in a clean environment.
  • Understanding of resin and required process parameters required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Allen Bradley operating interfaces, and related software preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret measurements using a tape measure.
  • Team playerwilling to take on additional responsibility as needed to meet customer orders.
  • Dependable, fast learner, good analytical and problem solvingskills.
  • Able to work overtime as needed and on short notice.
  • Ability to operate a forklift in a safe manner.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Must be able to sit/stand for 12 hours.
  • Walking, bending, lifting up to 65 lbs.
  • Visual acuity to include distinguishing color variation and detecting defects.

REQUIREMENTS TO MAINTAIN PRODUCTION OPERATOR STATUS:
  • Ability to work with and train others on the specifics of the position.
  • Ability to complete screen pack change.
  • Ability to Thread the line.
  • Knowledge of cast/secondary roll temperature settings and control.
  • Ability to work and perform die bolt adjustments.
  • Ability to set up run rates for the line.
  • Ability to perform product change over, while not incurring a large amount of scrap.
  • Ability to consistently run a scrap rate of < 4%.
  • Understanding of current blender system and ability to change necessary blends for our products.
  • Correctly performs and accurately documents quality testing and appropriately responds based upon testing results.
