Electrical Maintenance Technician

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, and repair of all plant equipment and facilities. This role supports both electrical and mechanical maintenance disciplines to minimize downtime and ensure safe, efficient production operations. Maintenance Technicians may specialize in Electrical Maintenance or Mechanical Maintenance, but all work collaboratively to maintain production readiness and equipment reliability.

Electrical Maintenance Technician (Electricians)

Primary Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems including motors, drives, PLCs, sensors, relays, and control panels.
  • Maintain and repair plant power distribution, lighting, and communication systems.
  • Diagnose and correct faults in automated and semi-automated production equipment (DCM, CNC, robotics, etc.).
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems to prevent unplanned downtime.
  • Ensure all electrical work meets code requirements (NFPA 70, NEC, and NFPA 70E standards).
  • Support machine controls integration, wiring modifications, and panel fabrication as needed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance electrical reliability and safety.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical training or certification in electrical maintenance or industrial controls preferred.
  • Strong understanding of three-phase power, PLC logic, motor control, and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Experience with automation and control systems in an industrial setting.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems and electronic documentation.
  • High Pressure Die Casting experience preferred

General Responsibilities (All Maintenance Technicians)

  • Follow all safety procedures and perform Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) prior to work.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records through CMMS.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns to minimize production disruption.
  • Participate in 5S and continuous improvement activities.
  • Support training and cross-functional teamwork across maintenance disciplines.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate or associate degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial or automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in electrical maintenance with the ability and interest to learn mechanical maintenance.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-skilled maintenance team.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as required.
  • Ability to work at heights as required for equipment repair and maintenance., including ladders, platforms, and aerial lifts, while using fall protection equipment.
  • High Pressure Die Casting experience preferred

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, and moving machinery.
  • Requires use of PPE including safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe footwear and hearing protection.
  • May require overtime, rotating shifts, or weekend coverage as needed.

Shift Flexibility Required: Day, Afternoon, and Night Shifts - M-F, 8hrs
Weekend Shifts - Alternating Work Schedule; 12 hour shifts. Fri-Sunday, and alternating Mondays.
