Job Title:  School-Based Mental Health Therapist (CSBBH Program)

Location: West Snyder Elementary School | Middleburg, PA

Job Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday
  • Primarily daytime school hours
  • Flexibility required for occasional parent and family sessions outside school hours

Diversified Treatment Alternative Centers (DTAC) is seeking a compassionate and dedicated School-Based Mental Health Therapist to provide therapeutic services to elementary-age students through our Community and School-Based Behavioral Health (CSBBH) Program.

This position offers the opportunity to work directly within an elementary school setting, helping students overcome emotional, behavioral, social, and trauma-related challenges while collaborating with families, educators, and support staff to support long-term success.

Position Summary

The School-Based Mental Health Therapist provides individual and family therapy services to students receiving CSBBH services. The therapist conducts assessments, develops and implements treatment plans, coordinates care with families and school personnel, maintains clinical documentation, and provides therapeutic interventions that support student well-being and success.

This role works closely with students, families, teachers, school counselors, administrators, and other treatment professionals to ensure coordinated and effective care.


Essential Responsibilities

Clinical Services

  • Conduct comprehensive behavioral health assessments
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Provide individual therapy services to elementary-age students
  • Conduct family therapy sessions and parent meetings as clinically appropriate
  • Monitor treatment progress and adjust interventions as needed
  • Utilize trauma-informed and evidence-based therapeutic approaches

Collaboration & Care Coordination

  • Collaborate with teachers, school counselors, administrators, and support staff
  • Communicate treatment progress with families and referral sources
  • Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings
  • Coordinate services with community providers and outside agencies
  • Provide clinical guidance and support to Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) when appropriate

Documentation & Compliance

  • Complete progress notes, treatment plans, contact notes, assessments, and reports within required timelines
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Adhere to agency, state, and program standards
  • Present accurate clinical information to referral sources and treatment team members

Professional Development

  • Participate in clinical supervision and ongoing training
  • Maintain professional and ethical standards of practice
  • Attend required staff meetings and professional development activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Education, Human Services, or a related behavioral health field
  • Licensed, license-eligible, or qualified Mental Health Clinician under Pennsylvania regulations
  • Training and/or experience working in behavioral health settings
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, or families preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation


Preferred Qualifications

  • LPC, LAPC, LSW, LCSW, LMFT, or other behavioral health licensure
  • Experience providing therapy to children and families
  • School-based, outpatient, CSBBH, IBHS, BHRS, or community mental health experience
  • Trauma-informed care experience
  • Knowledge of child and adolescent behavioral health treatment
