Job Overview

The role of the Sr Project Manager, IT is to plan, execute, and deliver large scale enterprise level IT related projects utilizing both Agile and Waterfall methodologies. This includes all aspects of planning and coordinating the efforts of internal team members and external vendors to deliver projects according to plan.  The successful candidate will be responsible for setting project scope and objectives, defining milestones, creating the project plan, and managing the execution, implementation, and closure of the project. This position reports to the Sr Director, IT Delivery Services.

A Day In The Life

Every day at Hubbell is different and you’ll contribute in many ways. Your role as a Sr Project Manager in this space will be to:
•    Manage the successful execution of large ($1M+) projects and enhancements coming in from IT Business Technology, IT Enablement, IT Technical Operations, and IT SAP Migrations teams 
•    This includes all aspects of managing large project teams (IT and non-IT) as well as sponsor and stakeholder relationships
•    Assist with IT Business Technology project portfolio management and intake process  
•    Collaborate with IT Business Partners and other senior IT leaders on project execution and delivery 
•    Ensure all projects and initiatives are utilizing the Hubbell IT PMO methodology and work with internal and external compliance on applicable project audits  


Key Outcomes

•    On time and within budget project implementations with no significant defects
•    Planned project business payback and ROI met
•    High project sponsor customer satisfaction
•    Effective use of automated or outsourced testing 
•    Effective project closures with transition to legacy archiving teams and AMS support transition 
•    Project audits with satisfactory result ratings

What will help you thrive in this role?

The successful candidate will have 8+ years demonstrated experience managing large ($1M+) IT related projects with a focus on software implementations, enhancements, and upgrades in the applications space. S/He should have demonstrated experience managing projects in a cloud or on-prem environment using Agile and Waterfall methodologies and be accustomed to running scrum style daily meetings as well as weekly status calls and regular stakeholder/sponsor executive report outs. Experience should include a track record of successful on-time and on-budget projects involving all aspects of project management:
•    Requirements gathering 
•    Vendor management
•    Status facilitation 
•    Executive report outs and communications 
•    Project closure including audit compliance
•    BS in Computer Science, Information Science, or related major concentration (required)
